Through the dedicated efforts of the Physical Education and Extracurricular Activities Unit of Sajjad University, the University's women's handball team competed in the Region 9 National Selection Tournament, organized to determine qualifying quotas for the 2026 National Student Olympiad, hosted by Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.

In a commanding performance, the Sajjad University women's handball team defeated Hakim Sabzevari University — currently one of the most distinguished and decorated teams in Iranian student handball — by a decisive score of 31–6, earning their place in the final round of the competition.

Notably, this authoritative victory simultaneously secured the team's qualification for the National Student Olympiad, marking a significant milestone for the University's sports program.

The final match of this tournament will be contested between Sajjad University and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad on Thursday, June 10, 2026.
