The Robotics World Championship was held for the twenty-ninth consecutive year in both student and academic categories by the International Federation of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (FIRACup). This event took place from August 5 to August 9, 2024 in São Luís, Brazil. Iran participated in the student category with 15 teams and in the academic category with 7 teams.

Sadjad University takes pride in the presence of two of its graduates serving as team leaders at the FIRACup 2024 World Championship in Brazil: Mr. Pouria Noori, a graduate in Electrical Engineering, leading and coaching the Shahriyar Robotics Team which secured the fourth place in this competition and Mr. Amir Mahdi Zarif, a graduate in Industrial Management, serving as the judge and supervisor for the League of Innovation and Business, while also receiving award for the best paper in the field of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at the 2024 Global FIRACup Conference.

It is noteworthy that this competition featured 300 teams from 40 countries, with a total of 1,500 participants. The first, second, and third places in the FIRACup World Championship were secured by teams from Brazil, while Iran placed fourth and Canada fifth.

FIRACup is the oldest competition for intelligent robotic soccer, established by Professor Junghwan Kim in 1996. FIRACup focuses on three primary objectives: to present challenges and create benchmark problems for new research in intelligent robotics, to provide valuable skills and experiences to senior students, enabling them to be productive and develop their careers in the new economy, and to introduce younger students to the fundamentals of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).

The participation of these graduates as Iranian leaders in this global event is a source of pride for Sadjad University, Iran, and the Iranian robotics community.
