Winning the world first place in Fira Simulcup World Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition.

FIRA World Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competitions are held in various fields of robotics by the Federation of International Robot-Sport Association (FIRA) every year. This year, due to the spread of the Coronavirus, these competitions were held virtually in simulation sections.

In the challenge section of self-driving cars, the goal is to go through the race course at the maximum possible speed, pass specific points and avoid obstacles, which is done autonomously with the help of artificial intelligence algorithms.

HIT-AV self-driving car development team under the supervision of Dr. Hadi Kalani and headed by Hanieh Montazer Torbati and the cooperation of team members Nazanin Ghasemi, Sajjad Sirajzadeh, Daniyal Fatehabadi, and Mohadese Furghani in the self-driving car simulator league competition of the 28th World Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition Fira Simulcup 2022 was able to win the first place in the world.

The Fira World Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition were established in 1996 and has gained world fame as the world competition of robots consecutive years. Every year, different countries such as Australia, Brazil, China, France, South Korea, Germany, and America host this international competition.

This year, many teams from different and world-renowned universities such as Stanford University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Russia, Sangmyung University of South Korea, Seoul University of South Korea, Guangdong University of China, Taiwan University of Natural Sciences, National Taiwan University, Santa Maria university of Brazil, the National Technological University of Mexico Celaya and the Delft University of the Netherlands and other universities of the world participated in this global competition. The HIT-AV team representing the Sadjad University of Mashhad, and Iran with the support of the HIT Research Group was able to win the company's quota first, then in this competition, with great efforts, they won the first place in the world among all the competitors from all over the world.
