Through the dedicated efforts of the Physical Education and Extracurricular Activities Unit of Sadjad University, the women's handball team — under the coaching of Ms. Mahla Heidari Bajgiran — crowned themselves champions of the Region 9 National Selection Tournament for universities and higher education institutions, held in pursuit of qualifying quotas for the 2026 National Student Olympiad.

The tournament was hosted by Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and took place from June 8 to 10, 2026. In the semi-final, the Sadjad University team delivered a commanding performance, defeating Hakim Sabzevari University — one of the most decorated student handball programs in the country — by a decisive score of 31–6, securing their place in the final.

In the championship final, the team demonstrated exceptional cohesion and competitive strength, overcoming the host institution, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, with a decisive score of 24–12 to claim the tournament championship title.
